I had to end the year with a fun activity that students don't get to very often, TIE DYING! (In fact, out of the 22 tie dying students only 3 had tie dyed anything before.)I told students to bring in any white or light colored shirt, socks, or clothing item to tie dye. I did have extras available for the kiddos who were not able to find or purchase a t-shirt. We talked about different designs, the placement of the rubber bands, and how to color each banded section. This was an absolute HIT! I prepared for the potential mess by spreading tarps, having plastic gloves available, and a lot of paper towel. Lesson Learned: Never be afraid to try something new, messy, or tricky because it just might turn out to be a great experience for you and the students! Awesome memories this year!
