All About Makers Club
Who: Any 6th, 7th or 8th grade students
What: Makers Club offers a unique and exciting opportunity for students to explore, discover and create through a variety of hands-on projects and activities. Students will have access to a variety of materials to engage in activities including: online gaming, robotics, engineering/design, arts and crafts, and much more.
When: *(See Dates Below) from 3:00-4:00pm
Where: PJHS - Library
Why: To excite and engage students in the areas of S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). To promote awareness of how these subjects can be used in the real world and to encourage students to consider future careers in these areas.

Expectations: The use of a variety of tools and machinery will be an important part of this club. Safety is of the utmost importance. Training in the safe use of all tools and machinery will be part of the club, and students are expected to follow the guidelines below at all times:

- Act in a responsible manner at all times in the Makerspace.
- Follow instructions given by the instructors and mentors.
- Report all accidents immediately to the instructor.
- Clean all work areas and put equipment away before leaving.
- Follow approved procedures for tool use and receive instructor permission prior to any tool use.
- Wear eye protection or other personal safety equipment when appropriate.
- Read all safety handouts and actively seek instructor for clarification on issues they may not understand.
- Dress appropriately for the makers environment... (tie back long hair, remove jewelry, secure loose clothing, wear shoes with closed toes in the Makerspace, etc.)
- Respect the work of others and not to interfere.
